Author Harry Shaw said, “There is no such thing as good writing. Only good rewriting.”

Creating literary art is a multilayered process that goes far beyond writing the first draft of a poem, story, memoir, or essay. Authors must shape, hone, and polish their work just as a sculptor does with clay or marble. Self-revision is an essential part of that creation process, even for authors whose work later goes to a professional editor.

In this workshop, award-winning author Amanda Skenandore will offer a systematic, multilevel approach to editing. She will discuss why self-editing is essential and share specific tools for implementation.

Instructor: Amanda Skenandore is the award-winning author of three historical novels, The Second Life of Mirielle West, The Undertaker’s Assistant, and Between Earth and Sky. She’s also a registered nurse and certified infection preventionist. She lives in Las Vegas with her husband Steven and their pet turtle Lenore.
